Indian cricketer Mithali wore a saree and played cricket very gracefully!

As Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India is all set to take on the defending champions Australia in the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 on Sunday (March 8), Mithali Raj – India women’s team captain in the 50 overs format – shared an inspirational message for the Girls in Blue on social media. Indian veteran can be seen breaking stereotypes as she was seen batting in a Indian saree.

She also shared a video on Instagram on Thursday showing her batting in a saree. The video, showing her playing her strokes dressed in traditional Indian attire, has gone viral since then and social media was abuzz with reactions. She also sported a bindi on her forehead with full cricket gear, sharing a strong message that a woman can do anything.

Mithali captioned her post as: “Every saree talks more than you and I know! It never tells you to fit in, it makes you stand out. This Women’s day, #StartSomethingPriceless and show the world that we can do it too. It’s time you start living life #OnYourTerms.”

Mithali Raj is the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket and is the only woman to have had an international career lasting more than 20 years. She retired from the T20 format in 2019 to focus on ODIs.
