Best Biddy, a website that connects consumers with wedding vendors and home service professionals in Canada and the United States, recently conducted a poll where they asked, "Where are you making your eco-wedding choices?" I was very disappointed to read that only 9% of the people who responded said they were choosing green wedding favors!

flower bulb favors in eco gift boxes

The presentation of favors is one of the most memorable and gracious gestures at a wedding, yet it breaks my heart to realize how many people are still giving their guests trinkets that will either sit around collecting dust, get tossed in a drawer, or even thrown away. Not only do those little plastic products generate vast amounts of pollution during the manufacturing process, but since most are made in other countries, even more pollution is created and resources wasted during shipping.

Instead, why not give unique, thoughtful wedding favors that inspire memories of your special day and help our environment? Tree seedlings, flower bulb favors in eco gift boxes, and plantable seeded favors are all gifts that will live long after your wedding day, and are just a few of the options that we've been proudly offering at Tree Beginnings since 1992.

We really need to talk about eco-friendly packaging when we get a moment. I really want to go green-er with my packaging, and if I can get advice from you I would love that.

I think the key to packaging is recycled paper. We use 100% recycled paper boxes for our kits and tree tubes.

But the ultimate in eco packaging would be with handmade paper , out seed cards are 100% recycled finished with raffia tie.http://www.plantamemory.com/scard/pswildord.html
For boxes see: http://www.plantamemory.com/fvboxes/favorboxes.html

Hope this helps.
