Jon & Emily were one of the last clients I had before I moved to Wilmington from Los Angeles. They were also the most carefree! I was bouncing back and forth between the groomsmen and bridesmaids all morning while each group got ready. Luckily the couple hired a wedding planner so there wasn't too much stress in the air.

Jon & Emily had one of the best first looks I have ever witnessed. Jon's reaction was genuine and heartfelt. It was staged on a beautiful stone patio overlooking the beaches of Malibu and Bel-Air. GORGEOUS!

As a modern Wilmington NC wedding photographer I see a lot of new concepts and cutting edge industry firsts. This particular wedding was about as traditional as it gets, however the wedding planner did a superb job of integrating modern twists that injected just the right amount of excitement into Jon & Emily's special day.

Specifically the details and the family photos. Emily chose several magazine spreads of the Kardashians to replicate for her family pictures. The posing and placement of the family members added class and sophistication to the pictures, and turned tradition on its head!

The details were some of the best I've seen, and the family tree canvas guestbook was the crown jewel of the reception table. The dance floor was out of control, and Emily's sister did some things which didn't make it into the final blog post :)

People ask me since I've moved to Wilmington if I miss LA, and my answer is always the same: I don't miss it because I go back and visit so often. I'm so lucky to have clients that enjoy my work enough to fly me wherever they get married, regardless of where I live! Thank you Jon & Emily for a great experience!

Are you getting married? Click the link below to contact me and see if your date is available in my calendar. Remember! I only shoot 20 weddings per year so my calendar is limited!

If Jon & Emily booked him he must be the greatest modern weddin...
