Bridesmaid dresses totally have a bad rap.  Because they are made to fit many different body shapes and sizes, they end up just looking average on everyone.  But, who says bridesmaids dresses have to suck?

Luckily, it's becoming more and more common for bridesmaids to wear mismatching (yet similar) dresses!  Better yet: have your bridesmaids pick out their own dresses! Give them the parameters of a color palette, a pattern, style or length to work with so they pick out a dress that helps them look and feel great. They will still match without being 'matchy-matchy.'

Here are some of my favorite mismatching bridesmaids looks I've found:

How adorable are these girls from Rustic Wedding Chic?  They all chose the same color pallet (whites and ivory) and the same length. I also love the feathers in their bouquets!

These girls chose a blush, peach and pink color pallet all at ankle length from Ruffled Blog.

Here's another group of floor length dresses in pink, peach and purple from Green Wedding Shoes.

I love how these ladies have all different colors and lengths, but they still seem to work together.  They wear mostly solid colors in muted tones of navy, eggplant, ivory and grey. - from Ruffled Blog.

Finally SHOES can be mismatched, how cute are these?

And I leave you with this: not only are the bridesmaids mismatched, but the bride is wearing a brown toned dress to match them. You can view more of this lovely bohemian wedding HERE.
