PLUS SIZE BRIDE SECRETS TO LOOKING SENSATIONAL AND BEING CENTS-SATIONAL!

From Deal Diva Bridal Guide-How To Throw A Platinum Wedding On A Discount Budget! at www.dealdivabridalguide.com

We recently came upon a press release for a new bridal salon specializing in the plus-size bridal market. After hours of watching tormented brides struggling to get into those sample size 10 wedding gowns on Say Yes To The Dress, we were thrilled to learn about The Strut Bridal Salon where samples are available in sizes 16 through 32! (And prices are in the reasonable range from $400-$2500.)

We spoke to owner, Ann Campeau, who offered her professional and personal tips for the curvier bride. Here's what she advised:

  • Be open minded.Try on many different styles and don't listen to the universal myths such as "A-line is best for the plus-size bride." Not true. Sometimes a mermaid silhouette is the way to go as the fitted shape can flatter the hour-glass figure creating a better shape.
  • Ballgowns can look amazing on a curvy girl! If you've always wanted the princess look at your wedding, try on as many ballgowns as you can handle. You'll find that they all fit differently hitting you at different points on your waist. There will be at least one that's just right for your shape.
  • Bolero jackets rule. If you love strapless but are self-conscious about your upper arms, today's boleros have become very fashion-forward and on-trend. So much so, that you'll make good use of one after the wedding as they pair beautifully with a dark denim jean, camisole top and heels for a chic night out with the new hubby.
  • Standardized wedding gown sizes don't exist. So don't go by the numbers! Be open-minded again and try on different sizes for the best fit.
  • Gowns can stretch throughout the festivities. Be sure to purchase appropriate foundation garments such as a long-line bra that cinches in the waist and supports the girls for a great look that lasts throughout the affair.
