Preserving Your Wedding Flowers AFTER the wedding is over

I have been in the dried floral business for over 20 years and have been saving flowers for clients for 13 years and so it seems like the obvious thing to do - at least that's what I think........and yet.........I've noticed (thanks to another floral preserver who pointed it out) - our venue is still relatively unknown in the wedding business.

I took a twist in my "dried floral" business some years ago when a friend came in and asked me if I would save some of the flowers from her mother's funeral and then make something with them for her and her 3 sisters. What a novel idea and I surely don't know why I didn't think of it before on my own. I'm grateful for my wonderful friends and clients.........they are the ones who have helped me be more creative in what I do.

From that moment on I've never looked back. I LOVE saving people's flowers no matter what the occasion. I admit, I get more funerals in my studio than weddings. When you've lost a loved one you want to save everything you can so that those memories are not lost.

But I challenge the bride with this thought. If you are spending hundreds (and some are spending thousands ) of dollars on fresh flowers for your beautiful day.......why on earth would you let them die when you can have a beautiful keepsake to treasure for years to come?

There's so much I could say.........but I will not overwhelm in my first blog post here. Just wanted to get a start to let you know what's out there for your special day. For more info on preserving please visit my blog/website at www.annebrueningoriginals.com I have a gallery full of shadowboxes, ornaments, glass boxes etc., of the flowers and special items that people have brought to me to put inside.

Until next time......

Blessings,

Anne
