Reaching Out to Help Haiti via the Wedding Industry

The wedding industry never ceases to amaze me. I’m proud to say that we are all part of a truly generous and caring community. Here are just a few of the BridalTweet wedding professionals who are reaching out to help Haiti in this time of crisis.

Katie Martin of Eco-Beautiful Weddings, has organized a trip in March for various wedding professionals to fly to the Dominican Republic. The group, which includes Tracy DiNunzio of Recycled Bride will be doing aid work for five days in a town near the border of Haiti called Jimani. They will work with a group called World Vision and are slated to build schools for the Haitian refugee children that are flooding the Dominican Republic. They have been instructed to pack light and to bring two suitcases filled with toys and supplies for the Haitian children.

Invitations by Ajalon is donating 100% of the price of all sample orders to Doctors Without Borders to help the Earthquake Disaster Relief Effort in Haiti. By ordering a set of letterpress samples, you'll make a small contribution to providing health and hope to earthquake victims.

Paper Couturiere has designed an exclusive range of notecards with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Haiti Relief via the International Red Cross.

These wedding professionals have shown that there are countless creative ways to reach out and give back. If you are looking for ways to give during this time of crisis, you can refer to these organizations.

The UNICUS Fitness Wedding Boot Camp program and its brides raised $600 for the American Red Cross and Haiti Relief by hosting an intimate evening at Buca di Beppo restaurant on January 27th. Many Chicago vendors donated their services for a silent auction and a few are still on display at the Fitness Lair (233 N Michigan Avenue). If brides are interested in finding out more or placing a bid, contact support@weddingbootcamp.com. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross.
