Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa will host the first Sandals Resorts Culinary Month this September 2009. An opportunity for guests to fully immerse themselves in the culinary traditions, tastes and experiences of the Caribbean through a variety of exciting culinary-themed events, the first Sandals Resorts Culinary Month will focus on the exciting cuisine of Jamaica.

Under the direction of master-chef Walter Staib, Culinary Ambassador to Sandals Resorts and founder of the Caribbean Culinary Federation, the Sandals Whitehouse Culinary Month will introduce guests to the fascinating story of how Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe influenced the complex flavors and cooking methods of Jamaica’s exotic island cuisine.

Guests who book a three-night minimum stay in the month of September will have the option of adding the Sandals Whitehouse Culinary Month package to their vacation, featuring tours, cooking demonstrations, private dinners and a gift of three exclusive Jerk Seasoning Sauces, made exclusively by Sandals Resorts, for an additional $395 per person. In order to experience the full calendar of events scheduled throughout the month, guests must book by August 31, 2009 and include at least a Thursday through Sunday stay.

Throughout the month of September, guests participating in the Sandals Whitehouse Culinary Month will have the opportunity to experience:

Rustic Stovepot Dinner – Dine under the stars on Jamaica’s untouched South Coast, enjoying traditional island fare, such as pepperpot soup and stew peas.

Appleton Rum Tasting – Savor the deep, rich accents and the silky smoothness of a selection of Jamaican rums from the famed Appleton Estate, presented by Joy Spence, the world’s first female Master Rum-Blender.

Wake-Up and Smell the Blue Mountain Coffee and Pastry Tasting – Enjoy some of the globe’s most celebrated coffee, harvested from Jamaica’s mist-covered Blue Mountains and roasted to perfection.

Cooking Demonstrations – Learn how to properly season and grill incredible dishes from talented chefs from around the globe.

Jamaican Fruit, Vegetable and Spice Market and Patty Tasting –Experience the roots of island cuisine in a fragrance-filled market atmosphere.

Vineyard Dinner – Tour the world’s vineyards from your Caribbean seaside table through Sandals Resorts’ exclusive Beringer Wine collection, as well as the elite Chairman’s List, which brings together a collection of top vintages from around the globe.
