Saree Love: Sushmita Sen was 16 years old when she wore her first Saree!

Anyone who has watched Main Hoon Na will remember fawning over at Sushmita Sen’s stunning chiffon sarees and modern looking blouses by Manish Malhotra. She is one of the few actresses who made sarees look hot and insanely attractive. And at the lake Fashion Week 2018, where she walked the ramp in a Kanjeevaram saree cum jumpsuit, she expressed her love for sarees. She said that the first time she wore a saree was when she was 16. It was for a portfolio shoot with a famous photographer in Delhi, Harbans Mody.

Sushmita’s mother had dressed her up in a black silk saree that was not too heavy and just grand enough. She said that Harbans Mody was very surprised to see a sixteen-year-old in a saree, but her mother admitted that Sushmita had only been allowed to shoot because she promised to wear a saree!
