the do's and don'ts of spray tanning

Hi I am Jenna and I am addicted to tanning. Not the cancer causing lay in the bed kind of tanning I am talking about a great spray tan. A spray tan instantly makes you look thinner, more toned, evens out your skin tone and adds a glow you just can't get anywhere else. Okay maybe the day you were engaged you had the glow and the day you get married you will but that's about it. Although I am all for spray tanning for your big day, there are many things that come along with spray tanning that I am against. Like for instance the spray tanning booth. That is a big no-no. Like a mess of orange streaky lines up and down your arms legs and possibly even face no-no. Scary! If you decide to be sprayed for your wedding you must be airbrushed by a technician and you must have a trial run before the special day. There are many many airbrush tanning companies out there and many of them are now running specials on sites like groupon.com, giltcity.com, etc. that are very enticing.  But remember just because they are an airbrush company does not mean their solution isn't orange so be aware and do your research! I have found that Fantasy Tan solution is the best and can be customized to your skin tone. I personally like going as dark as possible so the tan lasts longer but a good technician will warn you that this won't look natural on your wedding day. Listen to them. Here are a few other tips:

• Get your wedding day manicure and pedicure before your spray tan
• Exfoliate your skin the day of your spray tan appointment
• Only apply lotion to severely dry areas (knees, elbows, etc.) after you shower 
• Take off all face makeup prior to your spray tan appointment 
• Wear dark loose fitting clothing post spray tan 
• Wait 8 hours before showering post spray tan
• Do not scrub or rub skin in the shower - think gentle
• Pat your skin dry after showering
• Keep your skin hydrated with lotion post spray tan 
• Once you are spray tanned do no plan on working out one last time before the wedding. Sweat and the friction of your sports bra will cause unwanted tan lines that are not pretty in pictures. 
• If you are getting married on a Saturday I recommend getting sprayed the Thursday evening before your wedding
