The Wait is Finally Over: All for a Good Cause and A Grander Occasion!

The cat's out of the bag.. And it's grand...

Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or
spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration.

San Antonio wedding and event planners, Principles in Action have done it again. I am most pleased to announce how my team and I became part of a grand event of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Earlier this week, on 13th of January'12, in the late afternoon the Advance Creative Team of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition contacted me to give me the news of a lifetime! Their Segment Producer called to ask me if I would be willing to volunteer as their event planner and designer for the special segment with the Wounded Warriors at the Warrior and Family Support Center and that's how it all began.

Principles in Action had been chosen to assist them in their last EM:HE project here in San Antonio!

Like anyone else would be, at first I didn't believe what she was saying. Principles in Action? In THE Extreme Makeover? The one that airs on ABC, right?

Indeed, the Emmy Award Winning TV show bestowed my team with the privilege to facilitate the moving pieces of this wonderful project. EM:HE had chosen one special family from San Antonio and had been searching around for volunteers to help them with the decor and design for this project. As luck had planned, we became a part of this community service, much to our
contentment and joy!

The episode featuring the Principles in Action team will run in December of this year, so I really can't let the entire cat out of the bag until then. But what I can tell you is that we facilitated the EM:HE team in creating the atmosphere of a RED, WHITE and BLUE Christmas theme. This would be the check in half point with the Harris Family who was selected by EM:HE.

This was a life changing opportunity for us both. This past Sunday, I went to the Soldier Family Support Center for site review and came up with the concept for a Red, White and Blue Christmas theme. Once that was finalized, I assembled my team to get the right vendors on board
with us.
Meeting with all those wounded warriors and knowing their families up close was in itself a warm moment for me. My PIA team began working hard to create the awesome atmosphere of Christmas with check ins alongside the EM:HE team to provide design and decor to the rooms. We were further blessed with the help from the volunteers provided by Morgan's Wonderland, who were extremely gracious, aiding us in our endeavors.

In addition to this, my team and I organized their candy buffet to show our love and support to the wounded warriors and their families. The Candy Buffet station was adorned with Red, White and Blue shades to represent our Sweet Soldier Salute in honor of our high-spirited men on the battlefield.

I shall be giving you updates on this blessed event, so keep a close watch on my blog!

Please feel free to comment your thoughts below, how do you feel about EM:HE's initiative to build a home for wounded warrior and his family here in your town San Antonio?

The Emmy award winning reality program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, now in its 9th season, is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It is executive-produced by Brady Connell and George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America.
