Have you thought about your wedding invitation fonts or lettering styles?

You probably won’t give much thought to your selection until you actually go through the process of designing your invitations, but there are some things to keep in mind when choosing your font style…

  • More and more modern wedding invitations are incorporating two font styles usually with the bride and groom’s names appearing in a fancier font. When shopping for your invites, it will be specified if one or two font styles can be used for that particular design.
  • The product details will typically list the wedding invitation fonts used on the sample’s printing in case you like what you see you will know which one to choose.
  • Be cautious in your font choice since guests may find it more difficult to read some of the fancier styles available.
  • Some lettering styles appear in larger font sizes.
  • Certain lettering choices are automatically in small caps meaning all letters appear as uppercase with normal capital letters appearing slightly larger.
  • A few typestyles are much lighter than others and some may appear more on the bold side.

When ordering your wedding invitations from a printer, you will be presented with all the different font styles that are available and asked to make your choice. Remember to pay particular attention to the choice that is printed on the sample of your selected invitation to see if you like how it appears.
