What Makes A WeddingA Martha Stewart Wedding?

Have you ever wondered what makes a wedding a Martha Stewart wedding? This question was asked of Martha Steward recently and here is her answer - "personal attention to detail. All those little details that just bring it together."

And that is what Martha Stewart has used to become the premier name in weddings recognized world wide. But not only Martha as Colin Cowie and Preston Bailey also expose the same views that the key to success in the wedding business is "paying personal attention to detail."

As a wedding professional if you were asked the question "what make a wedding a "your company name" wedding" what would be your response? Can you really answer this question?

Well, if you are going to succeed in this business it is a question that you must be able to answer. And the good news is that you do not have to look very far for the answer. All you have to do is follow the lead of the industry celebrated leader.

Simply take the answer provided by Martha, Colin and Preston and begin to reinvent your business so that you are wowing your client by paying careful personal attention to detail. Why allow your client's wedding to ordinary when with your creativity and personal attention to detail you can personalize their wedding and make it a memorable day for all including you.

Reinventing their business is what Martha and Sandals did recently when they announced their partnership and launch of a line of Martha Stewart-inspired weddings packages at Sandals resorts in the Caribbean including my beloved country the Bahamas. The basic package is free for couples who book a six-night stay at one of the 12 Sandals or four Beaches resorts.

Sandals currently does some 70,000 honeymoon and 13, 000 weddings. No small numbers by any measurement and this was at the really high end with their Preston Bailey Bespoke Wedding. But they wanted to reposition themselves and decided to introduce Martha Stewart Wedding.

Not because they didn't know the wedding business but because they wanted to partner with some one that was on the cutting edge of the bridal market and at price they were comfortable with.

Another powerful lesson that we are sure to talk about soon - Team work and Communication.

And with this partnership Sandals is experiencing a 20% increase in its wedding booking. Clearly indicating that even with this recession people are more concerned about commitment and perceived value than with the money.

Leaving no question that if you are going to grow your wedding business then you have to begin to differentiate yourself from the crowd by reinventing your business to pay personal attention to detail.

As always let me know what you think? And I welcome your questions about weddings in the Bahamas.
