YOUR WEDDING BUDGET & THE MARRIAGE OFFICIANT

Professional marriage officiants benefit the modern couple by providing them the ability to decide where the ceremony will take place which can also help to manage their overall wedding budget. The growing trend among the majority of modern couples is a combination ceremony and reception at the same location. This offers substantial savings from that of a typically more costly church wedding with a separate reception and all that becomes necessary as a result.

Each marriage officiant brings with them their own set of experiences and unique perspectives. Just because you may not be getting married in a church does not mean that your ceremony cannot be spiritual. As a couple, talk with several candidates to insure that you have found the officiant that suits your needs in every way. This is one of the most important days of your life and you should both feel comfortable with the choice that you make for your marriage officiant.

In order for you to effectively compare prospective marriage officiants it is important to determine what is included in their fees, not only the monetary amount. Some marriage officiants do not include the rehearsal in their standard fee, some may add travel time depending on where the ceremony is to be held, and others may offer the service of custom personalized vows for an additional charge. Based on your needs, all of these factors should be carefully considered when making your final decision.

After you have made your decision, make sure that your wishes are documented in writing and signed by all parties. A professional marriage officiant will provide you with a detailed contract which specifies all aspects of your agreement from the date and time of your ceremony to what is included for the fee that you have been quoted. You should confirm that the dates and times for your ceremony and rehearsal, if applicable, are listed on the contract and are accurate. If there are any special requests or personalized vows, they should also be incorporated into your contract with the officiant. Upon request, the officiant should provide you with a copy of the ceremony in advance of the wedding. It is customary to provide a deposit in order to reserve the date of your ceremony with your marriage officiant; with the balance due the day of the ceremony.

The fact that one marriage officiant may have a higher fee than another really means nothing if you do not consider the services that you are receiving for your fees. The professional experience that the officiant brings should be given careful consideration in addition to what is included in the ceremony. Most importantly, the rapport and trust which you establish with your marriage officiant should certainly be one of the primary determining factors in your decision making process because you are entrusting them with your heart's most sacred day.

It would be my honor to unite you in marriage. I am very responsible and promise to treat every detail of your ceremony with the respect it deserves. Please consider Reverend Keegan Heart 2 Heart Wine Country Weddings.
