Different Location Ideas to Have Your Wedding

Whether you're a religious person or not, most people used to assume that weddings were held in churches. After the ceremony, the reception was usually held in a different location, such as a reception hall. Times are truly changing, however. Many couples prefer to forgo the church ambiance in order to enjoy the convenience of remaining in the same venue for the reception as well as having a chance to enjoy a more creative ambiance.

Arboretum or Botanical Garden

If you're a lover of nature and the outdoors, a natural aesthetic is going to be an excellent option for your wedding. Instead of trying to create a faux garden within the confines of a building, why not get married outdoors? An outdoor wedding in a botanical garden or an arboretum can be an ethereal, memorable experience. Just be sure to reserve a beautiful tent or covering in the case of inclement weather.

Ballroom

Next to a church, a ballroom, ones that look like what can be found with Russo's On The Bay, tends to be one of the most beloved choices for a wedding venue. A great perk to having your wedding in a ballroom is that you can hold a stunning ceremony and then easily transform the venue into a lively reception hall with an amazing dance floor. This sort of venue allows you to decorate the room however you want, filling and forming the space to create an aisle with chairs or decorations that can easily be moved to create a different layout for the reception.

Rooftop Venue

When it's time to get on an airplane, there's something very magical about being able to peer through the window and see the clouds. While you can't get married in an airplane (comfortably), choose a rooftop venue in order to feel like you're closer to the clouds. Undeniably, the sky is a stunning backdrop. It also doesn't matter which city and state you're in. Every city has rooftop venues with gorgeous views and skylines.

Museums or Libraries

In the iconic scene where Big left Carrie at the altar, Sex and the City fans quickly learned about the beautiful possibilities surrounding hosting a wedding in a public library. If you're an avid reader, this might sound like a dream come true to wed in a space that holds thousands of recorded love stories in one place. If you're more of an art connoisseur, consider getting married in a local museum or gallery. Hire a wedding designer who can play off of the themes that are displayed throughout the museum for an eclectic yet polished result.

Your wedding day is definitely one of the most memorable days of your life. As such, you should really think about where holding the wedding itself would make you the happiest and where you think you can create the most memorable of memories. This might mean choosing a location not in a church but either more scenic, such as a garden or a rooftop, or more malleable, such as a ballroom where you can rearrange the furniture and decorations as needed. No matter where you decide though, the focus should be on you and the magical memory you’re sure to create.
