5 Must-Haves for a Cinderella-Inspired Wedding

Maybe you're looking to kiss your prince as the clock strikes midnight. Maybe you're hoping to give your fiancée the fairy tale wedding that she's been dreaming about since she was a girl. Whatever your reasons for wanting to evoke the spirit of Cinderella on your wedding day, here are just a few ways to bring the magic to life.

Attire

You don't need literal glass slippers, though "Cinderella heels" are indeed available for true Disney aficionados. Just aim for a royal look with your bride and groom outfits. For the ladies, this could mean a gown with tulle layers and a tiara to top it all off. For the men, consider a Prince Charming ensemble with a tunic, sash, or shoulder epaulets.

Color Scheme

The classic colors of Cinderella are blue and white, and it just so happens that these make lovely wedding colors as well. White elements can include candles, stationery, and table settings. Blue can be incorporated in balloons, streamers, and flowers. You can experiment with your venue's lighting to bring a little color to that element as well.

Ballroom

Nothing says "fairy tale" like a grand and opulent ballroom. The good news is that you don't have to book a castle to enjoy one. Many venues, including Russo's On The Bay, offer ballrooms with wide, sweeping spaces backed by lavish architectural elements. If you find one specifically meant for weddings, they'll often be pre-prepped with things like sound systems, too.

Flowers

Florals are an important part of any wedding, and they can play a key role in establishing your Cinderella theme. The first step is to stick to the color scheme of blue and white. This means blue thistle, baby's breath, peonies, carnations, and delphinium. The next step is figuring out how to make people look at your bouquet or your table settings and immediately think "Cinderella." How about small, decorative pumpkins painted white or strung with pearls?

Decorations

To truly embody Cinderella, give your entire wedding a fairy tale theme right down to the decorations. Possibilities include things like "happily ever after" cake toppers and front doors decorated like hardback books with their pages open. You could also draw out specific storytelling elements from Cinderella: Think about pumpkin-themed guestbooks, wedding invitations shaped like crowns or carriages, or party favors silhouetted by the movie versions of Cinderella and her Prince.

These are just a few essentials for a Cinderella-themed wedding. Be your own fairy godmother and put together all of the details, plans, and arrangements for an utterly magical ceremony!
