During the Holidays, do you prefer to buy from merchants who donate a portion of sales to charity or non-profits?

With so many charitable organizations and non-profits needing help (this year especially), I'm wondering if you try to make purchases from companies that donate a portion of their sales back to charities?

Does it matter to you at all? Is it value-added if the products / services and prices are similar to those from different merchants? What if there is a price difference?

We've been getting positive feedback with the Network for Good "Good Card ®" program - which lets our customers support charities of their choice when making jewelry or sculpture purchases:

(Our slogan is "Good Art Supporting Good Works".)

I'm curious, have you tried something similar as a business owner? Or, as a consumer, is this kind of donation program something you take into consideration? Do you think it becomes more important during the Holiday shopping season?

Looking forward to your comments!

Honestly it's not a main factor in my decision making. For example if I think merchant B is lesser quality than merchant A I wouldn't choose them over Merchant A because they were donating to a charity. But if I was deciding between to merchants I felt were equal I would go with the merchant that was donating because I see that as an added bonus to doing business with them.
In general I always lean towards the vendors who donate a portion of all profits to charities; especially if it's a cause I personally endorse. It doesn't matter what time of year it is. Sometimes I will purchase something I wasn't planning to purchase because a portion is going to a good cause; but that's just me.
