Kelly, your SEO articles are a great resource for us, and offering to help individuals understand the process is a fine community generosity. Thank you, Kelly!

Well, I smile to say that as a result of our discussion I got a message from Weddings on Wheels announcing her new blog! http://weddingsonwheels.blogspot.com. Congrats Rev. Debbie, may this new forum be a success and a lot of fun for you. Do we also have thanks to Heather for helping make this happen? Cheers all.

Yes, Heather, I would love for us to post marketing ideas and what has been most helpful to us here. I'll start - I have gotten a good percentage of inquiries from listing myself with a free listing on Google Maps. When couples search on Google, the first thing they see is a little local map with local vendors that match their search. A free way to 'be at the top of a Google Search." Go to http://maps.google.com. On the left column at the bottom of anything else you may see there, there will be a link for listing your biz on Google Maps. Just follow the directions. You can post info, photos, and have your couples write reviews... a good good thing. Smiles from Barbara!

Hi everyone! So great to see an Officiant's page here on Bridal Tweet! I specialize in Jewish/Interfaith weddings around the world, so if anyone needs any assistance with Jewish customs and traditions, please let me know! Great to see some familiar names from other sites here as well!

I think this is a good place to post about the experiences we have, advice for each-other and to network with each other. For marketing to couples there are many other options. We could all place ideas on where we like to market to reach our target market. Being that this is a National Forum marketing to each-other may not get us local clients.

Weddings on Wheels, if you want to contact me off the boards, directly I can walk you through the process. I know it seems overwhelming at first, but then it becomes easier than signing up for lots of forums and way more effective for what your goal is, to reach your target audience. I will email you my contact information from your website if you wish... I agree with Carleen, posting here is a waste of your time and everyone elses.

Heather, I looked at signing up for a gmail account and the sign up page said it would make gmail my primary email. I don't want that, so I can't sign up for gmail and do what you said about posting blogs. It's all too complicated . I don't wish to give up my earthlink email address. I wish there was another way. Guess I'm just stuck posting individual ads on these forums.

Wow! What a rich discussion! First, let's be inspired by Weddings on Wheels for determined, lively promo. Here's an opportunity to ask ourselves, are we out there pitching our businesses with zest each day? In response, let's each take another energized action this week. Next, let's thank Heather for being so positive and writing out how-to instructions for blogs and facebook biz pages. The camaraderie among officiants helping each other is one reason I started this group, and one aspect of the wedding officiants industry that inspires me. Heather, can you please clip out the instructions you wrote and paste them into a new Discussion I'm starting here for Helpful Biz Practices? I want to preserve your kind wisdom as a resource. And yes, I do think that this forum is not the proper place for frequent similar postings about our services. Yet, I do think this is absolutely a good place for all of us to post what we do from time to time. We can learn from each other by watching as well as by chatting. So, once again, good going group! We now have a new blogging resource and hopefully more clarity about how to use this forum well among us. Here's to all of your success (and mine!) Cheers from Barbara
