Over the last year we have received a few phony "I need a Wedding Planner" in your area. The clients are mostly from UK and Iran. Sometimes it is hard to tell at first, because we have had legit clients from UK come here to wed. I was wondering what experiences others have had regarding this.

Hello Chriss, I am Dr. Linda Trott of The Name Change Kit For Brides software. Although the national expert on bride name change, we belong to wedding vendor groups nationwide. Recently, at a membership meeting of about 80 members, this subject did come up. One of the event planners and our web marketing instructor for this vendor group, did a 10 minute or so warning on this subject. This was in the light of the fact that the coordinator had virtually fallen for the scam. When we have our next meeting, I will ask them about this, as to what are the warning indicators. If the information is relevant, I shall e-mail you regarding the same. Regards, The Name Change Kit For Brides Software. www.namechangenews.com www.namechangemadeeasy.com
Thank You. We had our monthly Planners group meeting this morning and discussed this issue. Fortunately none of us in this area have fallen for the scam.
Yes please, as we have a few other planners who would be interested in that knowledge as well. The emails we receive usually are from the UK and the groom is in Iran, they want you to do everything and use their CC.
Thank you, look forward to the info.
I get these all the time! Ignore them. If you read other forums, you will find that many of us are getting these. You can't be too careful.
Just wanted to refresh the subject since we have had so many tries lately. So many new planners in our area and they have no clue and are eager to try to help and end up being scammed.
Thank you for your input
I get these phony requests for wedding planners too. Mostly from the UK and Nigeria. You can always tell by their stilted language and the phrases they use. I always immediately delete them.

We printed out the last email we received on this topic and shared it at our group meeting this morning. Some of the planners had not received anything like this yet, so now they are warned and ready.
Thank you for your input.
