Good points everyone!

New bridal comment to add to this discussion: one of my clients just said she likes to "keep things simple and not have to make too many decisions".

Rebekah - Good point! I do custom bridal jewelry and try hard to not price out of what the current market is doing because I know its so ridiculous! (-;

One of the things that's most disheartening to me is that as soon as the word "wedding" is added to anything, the price increases 100% or more. It's a shame that those of us who are trying to start a life together must shell out so much money just to have a celebration of that new beginning - just because it's a wedding and not a different event.

Well, I WAS a bride just a few months ago. All I could think about was how to make everything I did and included really reflect who we are as a couple - our history, our present, our future. We didn't care about tradition really at all. I broke tons of rules, but everyone said that they really saw "us" in the event. So, mission completed! (-;

As for what I'm hearing other brides say, mostly that they want handmade. They want new resources that have a personal touch that makes them feel extra special because its handmade. Its not so much personalization, but just not what they see on every other girl in town.

We might be on to something here.. perhaps we could set up something like that and just have brides pay a initial fee when signing up for there unlimited consult and get unlimited advise and all the proceed could go to a bridal tweet organization that can help contribute to a big yahoo at the end of the year... lol

I'd imagine having a central number which would randomly, or by numeric prompt/selection, transfer the call to any willing professional during normal business hours. Kind of like those old psychic hotlines (bless their hearts).

Hi Mickey - That is certainly an interesting idea. Any thoughts on how one might scale that? I would think that there would need to be enough phone reps so that brides would be able to reach someone on the phone immediately.

Again - thank you to the members of this group for your contributions about what brides are saying. Let's keep the conversation flowing!

Christina,
I think a wonderful Ideal for brides is to open up community chat lines for all Major cities, San Diego (hint hint) Where personal trained wedding consultant have a toll free number that they can call to discuss wedding issues personal.. I had this epiphany when you started this group..Just a little extra something that Bridal Tweet could add to their Repertoire kind of like a hotline. I haven't worked on any specifics, but I thought that might help with putting faith back into a wedding planner.. Any Ideals on how to go about it..?

Couples are looking for ways to save money by using family and friends as a substitute for hiring vendors such as DJ, Wedding Planners, Photographers and Officiants
