While working on some post production after an Engagement session at Julia's house, I looked up at some pictures she has hanging on her office wall of her children. They are the typical department store photo studio images. Her daughter dressed in a beautiful party dress, heavily posed, sitting on a platform, side angle with her knees up head posed tightly towards the camera. And her son in posed slightly to the right holding a plush soccer ball and looking back towards the camera. It dawned on…

Carla and Geoff had an intimate wedding at the City Hall. It was a lovely celebration with family and friends and I had the pleasure to capture some great moments.
The wedding photos speak for the couple's nonchalance, I had a wonderful time with them!
Easy going, fun and relaxed. A pleasure to work with!…

Johnston Photography was recently hired by a wonderful family, who had planned a surprise engagement party for their daughter. They requested that we take 25 pictures! As the details of the event were unfolding it became appartent that this would not be your typical engagement photo session! Typically we take the couple to a spot of their choice and photograph their interactions together, this event was to be MUCH bigger! With excitement we…

Agata & Stefan wanted their day to be a little different with a vintage themed wedding. Agata is originally from Poland and Stefan is Bavarian, they met and fell in love in London and this played a part in the planning of the creative shoot as well as venue choices. As a surprise Agata had the flower Edelweiss flown in from Austria to be included in the buttonholes and bridal bouquet. Agata’s 1920’s inspired designer creation from Jenny Packham set off the vintage theme perfectly. They…

This is an interesting addition to the favors I have seen, a pear, or a pair of pear. If you came with a guest I suppose.

As a wedding photography studio based in two cities (Atlanta and Boston) we have two distinct seasons. For New England, this late April weekend is traditionally the start of the wedding season. So for all our New England colleagues, here's to a great 2009 season. We had so much fun last night photographing a beautiful event at the Boston Harbor Hotel. We are looking forward to connecting with many fantastic New England wedding vendors over the next few months.

We shot these 2 last Saturday in Chino Hills, kind of a random place but it worked out great! A lot of the area suffered burn damage so finding some green grass made me want to high five a pony! We shot in a burnt down house which was an ordeal to get to! Luckily, Grayson knows the number one rule: if I fall, save the camera first! So after jumping fences, getting stung by stinging nettles (as I always seem to do), walking up and down muddy hills and walking through rusty nails, (luckily no…

I loved this shoot! I know I say that a lot, but I did! We shot on Valentines day over in the great town of Brea (home of my favorite Corner Bakery) and it was, needless to say, a good time. I don't think it could have gone any better.. other than I lost my precious Gary Fong light diffuser :[ 60 bucks out the window, but it happens! So! Much thanks to Maurice and Tasha for being amazingly.. willing!.. and awesome!
If you want to see more of this shoot, scroll down a few post to see the…

Meet Heather and Adam, a couple from Bakersfield. We shot downtown and it was great! Grayson shot with me and we had this whole game plan, it was fan-freakin-tastic! Oh and I found a sweet button on the ground in the alley, free! I loved that they let me do whatever I wanted and didn't question a single thing, no matter how dirty their butts had to get! Haha. Here are a few of my favorite images!…
