Real Wedding :: Kelly & Franklin Jungle Wedding, Costa Rica

Forget about paper lanterns, bamboo ceremony arches and regular dinner flatware. This fête featured Moroccan chandeliers made of colored glass and finely hand worked brass, an active volcano backdrop and hand painted organic leaf chargers. This event was anything but ordinary, even for destination wedding standards.

The location was set for the base of the…

Real Wedding: Amber & Ryan's Luxurious Lodge Event

On the edge of a cliff, just feet from an impressive plunging waterfall, Amber and Ryan said their vows and then it was on to their celebration in the adjacent, historic Salish Lodge. These two fell in love in the mountains and chose this rugged setting to recite their wedding vows.

The months leading up to this event were a lot of fun. This…

Real Destination Wedding :: Jenna & David

This destination wedding takes us to Costa Rica’s breathtakingly lush Central Pacific region. If you do a little exploration within Costa Rica, you will notice how diverse the environments can be within it’s relatively small confines. Jenna and David were looking for a rainforest setting on the ocean that was close to a volcano. Highlights include one adorable baby, a sand ceremony, private beachside bonfire and a sky lantern ceremony. Wedding colors were fuchsia and mango and the decoration…

Who Asked the Groom?

When planning a wedding, style decisions are widely considered a job for the bride-to-be, while the groom-to-be is, often times, more than happy to opt-out of this job. Weren’t these grooms told that helping plan their wedding is the fashionable thing to do these days!?

A his and her design team tends to create a more balanced…

Floral Spotlight :: Scabiosa ‘Black Knight’

Up until one year ago, we were completely in the dark about this captivating deep wine and lavender bloom.  As a florist of 13+ years, it is my job to know ALL about stunning beauties such as this dramatic Scabiosa named the Black Knight. After running across it one day at a small farmers market in Washington, I was enamored, and, as it…

Sittin’ under a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G

This last week, while road tripping a bit, we got to talking about how unbelievably beautiful some of our surrounding Ceiba, Mango and Guanacaste trees were. What a backdrop these noble trees would make for outdoor nuptials. Just the sight of a tree standing alone on a hilltop or in a grassy pasture, conjures up romantic thoughts.

As many of you are…

Parisian Floral Trends :: Fruit Magnifique

Recently one of our Washington brides came to us and mentioned that she had received a early wedding gift of 200 apples from a farmer in her community. She was not quite sure how she was going to work these apples into her wedding decor and she wasn’t completely convinced that she wanted to… The gift was just offered. We saw it as a great opportunity for creative design.… Continue
