These wedding favors are very affordable, absolutely adorable and perfect for adding a touch of spring into your event!

When you hear the words “Washington” and “flowers” used in the same sentence, many of you may automatically (and fittingly) envision the tulip bloom. This powerful, yet simple bloom has become synonymous with western Washington because of its abundant supply throughout the region’s fertile valleys. The Skagit Valley, in particular, has so many of these lovely blooms, it stands second only to Holland, for its bulb growth. And, as many of you already know, Four Winds Weddings & Events owns and operates a floral farm in the Skagit River Valley. Needless to say, tulips are especially dear to our hearts, this is why we were thrilled when we came across this DIY idea to use tulips as favors for wedding guests. After a little research, I found a grower in our area that offers brides a great deal on a large assortment of bulk bulbs. Most likely you will find the perfect color blooms to match your wedding color palette. You can also use white paint to include your initials or spell out your last name.

All you will need for assembling these favors:

  • Paper lunch sacks (open topped gift boxes and tissue would work well also) can be found at Paper Mart
  • Eyelets, ribbon and white paint from your local craft store or Michaels
  • White or clear plastic cups for the bulbs
  • Organic potting soil

A big thank you to Project Wedding for this DIY idea and Mary Swenson for your lovely photos!
