With all the new facebook "likers" (hello and welcome by the way!) I thought It was about time to revisit who I am, why I became a celebrant, and what I do when it comes to weddings.

I became a celebrant in 2009, yes I'm a relative newbie but I've had a long history of talking in public. Over several years I worked in broadcasting at stations like NXFM Newcastle and B105 Brisbane and only made it onto Media Watch once in my whole career. Obviously, I wasn't trying hard enough.

You can have a listen to some on my on-air gold here if you like.

I'm a classically trained Opera, yes Opera, singer but I haven't really belted out any Arias in a long time. Now, I work for Greater Union Cinemas in marketing and I'm about to become a mum for the very first time - a very exciting and somewhat daunting prospect.

When it comes to weddings, I am up for anything. I've performed formal , black tie weddings to casual ceremonies involving only the couple and their witnesses.

I'm a Virgo which means I am normally 40 minutes early for everything and I'm a paperwork fiend which does come in handy when you are registering marriages. My ceremonies are fun, relevant and written to the direction of the couple. I provide all the information and ideas to create a unique ceremony, throw traditions out the window when asked or provide a fully formal and fabulously fluffy service.

Being a part of such a special day has really come to mean a lot to me. Getting to know couples , and being there on one of the most significant days of their lives is an absolute gift (and I have been known to tear up on a few occasions).

If you need a celebrant, for a naming, a wedding, a commitment ceremony or just want to know more about what I can do for you then drop me a line info@wedbykez.com
