Creating a Bridal Luncheon Theme around Favors

When you are thinking about the luncheon that you will throw for your bridal party a few days before the wedding it is likely that you first started thinking about a theme. Many people have difficulty planning something if they don’t have a concept to build on and will actually choose a theme before even thinking about a location or date. The theme of a bridal luncheon can make a tremendous impact on the overall experience of the luncheon, from where you choose to hold it to the décor that you create to the gifts that you give your bridal party as thanks for all that they have done for you in preparation for your wedding. For some brides, however, the theme isn’t so easy to come up with. If you are having a hard time bringing your plans for your bridal luncheon together around a theme, consider taking your approach a little “backwards”. Instead of first coming up with your theme and choosing décor and favors to go with that theme, first choose your favor and then design your theme around that piece.

Many bridal luncheons follow the same expected theme of “garden” or just end up being a luncheon that doesn’t have much of a theme at all. Having a theme, however, can make all the difference in your gathering. With a theme you can coordinate your invitations with the table setting and the décor with the favors, giving this celebration the same polish and beautiful appeal as the rest of your wedding. Choosing an unusual theme also gives you a chance to add a bit of personality and flair to a gathering that has a reputation for being somewhat dull and boring. Starting with the favor is a great way for you to choose one detail that speaks to your individual personality so you can use it as a jumping off point for putting together the rest of the celebration.

There are literally thousands of different options for favors that can help you pick your theme and build on it. For example, if you love the look of a black damask tea cup candle holder but the idea of a traditional tea party is a little cliché for you, take a cue from the unusual black coloring and hold a “mad” tea party instead. If you love the symbolism of an elephant with an upturned trunk, give an elephant picture frame as a favor at an Asian-inspired luncheon.

Starting with your favor gives you a chance to really personalize your bridal luncheon by picking something that you love and creating your celebration around it. This will take the pressure off of you and help you create memories of this gathering that will be just as precious as those of your wedding day.
