Most weddings processionals are normally traditional. You know, the usual; groomsmen line up at the front of the church, bridesmaids walk down the aisle...blah...blah...blah! Guests can become bored after seeing the same dress on seven bridemaids. Surprise your guest with a creative processional. Do something different.

At one of my recent weddings, I noticed a balcony in the sanctuary. So, before the bridal processional, I had the bride walk across the balcony with beautiful, angelic music. The element of surprise was amazing for her guests! Echos of"ahhhs" filled the sanctuary. The groom was especially surprised, since it was not part of the rehearsal. It was also a hot topic at the reception.

Here are just a couple iof deas for wedding processionals:

  • Have the groomsmen escort the bridesmaids down the aisle. Before the processional, at the doorway, keep the couples out of the sight of the guests. Have each couple step into the doorway separately and then have the groomsmen pass the bridesmaids their bouquets. The groomsmen then extends his arm and escorts the bridesmaids down the aisle.
  • Have the bridal party walk separately down the outside aisles, instead of the center aisle. The groomsmen carry one matching flower from the bridesmaids bouquet with one arm extended behind their backs. Couples complete processional by meeting at the center, front aisle. The groomsmen bows, and passes the single flower to the bridesmaids. The couples then assume their positions.
Look around your ceremony venue. I'm sure you will find an area where you can do something different. Be creative. Entertain your guest.
