So I've already blogged about Hubby and I choosing to do a lot of things differently when it came to getting wed.

One such thing was we decided...or more to the point I did, and he agreed, was to create our own wedding coffee book.

The reasons behind this were simple we wanted to be able to walk guests or visitors through our wedding with a few simple shots, not a giant album that takes a crane to lift and we wanted it to be something simple that could be easily flicked through when we felt nostalgic. And I can tell you as newlyweds.. you do get sooky about your video and wedding photos

So, that leads me to my good friend Luke who got me onto a program called Momento. This is photobook software that allows you to design and print your own wedding album.

I found it relatively easy to use and fun to play with although I guess I was most disappointed with my own failings in design more than I was the software. Printing starts at $80 per album plus a charge per page and discounts do apply for buying more than one copy. The printing process can take up to 21 days. The great thing about the software is it's pretty much WYSIWYG and it does all the colour correct and simple layout stuff without needing a degree in design or photography.

A couple of other options for this kind of software are

• Photobook Australia
• Blurb
• Shutterfly

Some of these programs will be able to point you in the direction of designers who will create your book for you, or else have the fun of putting it all together yourself.
Keep in mind that an overseas provider will charge more for postage and could take a while in transit.

Other businesses like The Coffee Table Book do the whole thing for you. Which takes out all the hair pulling, but where is the fun in that?
