It is the official start of spring! Thawing has begun in some places but pretty soon, it will be warmer for all of us. Brides-to-be who are ahead of the game will probably start planning their weddings now. And of course, there are still those who are a bit more pressed for time and are scrambling to get things together just in time for spring!

The best hues for your spring wedding!

No matter which group you belong to, what we have today is especially for you.

Wedding Colors for Spring

It’s the season of pastels. Pastels are perfect for spring because they represent the mildness of the season, and they just look so lovely with the emerging colors in nature and the soft lighting that comes with spring.

Let’s kick it off with Pantone’s color of the year for 2016 which happens to be beautiful pastels:

Rose Quartz and Serenity

Rose Quartz is a soft pink that has a neutral undertone. We love how this color transforms depending on what it paired with it. When paired with warmer colors, it takes on an almost peachy hue, and when paired with cool colors, it becomes pinker. Rose Quartz is a color that would go well with both gold and silver accessories.

Serenity, on the other hand, is a mild indigo blue. Before you get thrown off by that, let us say that this is such a workable wedding color especially if you don’t like pink. Like most blues, Serenity goes well with fellow cool colors but also creates a lovely contrast with warmer pastels like Rose Quartz and peach.

Now that we’ve covered pink and blue let’s move to the other hues.

Spring Green

There’s a right hue of green for every season. You might think that the lightest shade of green is the best choice for spring, but actually, it is not. Go too light and things might look washed out. Look for a green that is bright but not loud. Think evergreen. Like this one. Or look no further from the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2016 which suggests Green Flash. We found Rose Quartz and Serenity in this same report.

Peach

People have different ideas of what the peach color should look like. The proper peach hue is warm and toned down. It can be saturated and darker, but never brighter as that would be closer to coral. Pantone’s Peach Echo hits the right balance. Peach looks beautiful with very light pinks and gold.

Lilac

Lilac is spring’s version of lavender. The former is lighter and more suitable for the mild spring weather, but there’s no reason you can’t use both! Just make sure to use a warmer, contrasting color for accent.

Sunny Yellows

What better color to usher the warmer season than yellow? With this, you can go two ways. You can go bright like buttercups or mellow like delicious butter. Softer yellows look gorgeous with peach while vibrant yellows look fantastic with natural greens, and if you are feeling feisty, orange or purple.
