Unique Favour Ideas: Interactive Buffets

Unmistakable Blog

We’ve all heard of the candy buffet, which is a fun, interactive way to both decorate your space and give your guests a favour they’ll love.  If candy buffets just aren’t your thing, however, there are lots of ways you can incorporate the stunning visual display and allow your guests to personalize their favours without the candy.  As always, you’re only limited by your imagination.

Purchasing the containers for a buffet of any kind can be expensive.  You may be interested in renting them instead. Contact Me for pricing on my array of buffet glassware and serving utensils.

Here are a few of this Planner’s ideas for unique, different favour buffets:

1. Salty Snack Bar – think chips, pretzels, popcorn, trail mix, nuts, cheese snacks, etc.
2. Popcorn Bar – include a variety of your favourite flavours in jars and vases, or rent a popcorn machine, have freshly melted butter, and shakers of the flavouring of your choice.

3. Coffee Bar – if you and your new hubby are coffee aficianadoes, why not provide several kinds of flavoured beans for people to choose from, and mix and match?  Think Irish Cream, Hazelnut, French Vanilla, Light, Medium and Dark Roast, etc.
4. Tea Bar – this Planner’s favourite idea!  Provide several kinds of plain loose-leaf tea: black, Earl Grey, green.  Then, fill other vessels with your favourite tea flavourings: hibiscus, lavender, rose petals, lemongrass, dried orange peel, dried cranberries, dried mint, etc.  Give your guests a pretty tin or a cute bag, and let them create their own personal blend of tea.  Though a very unique idea, this might be hard to pull off yourself. Contact Me if you’d like help setting up a custom tea bar.
5.  Flower Bouquet “Bar” – if you’re not able to send home your centerpieces with your guests, why not allow them to make their own bouquet of flowers from a beautiful array of different varieties and colours you’ve provided for them?  Imagine how beautiful a long table or cart of flowers and greens would be in your reception hall.  Have each flower stem cut to about the same length, and group them in vases by colour and type of flower.  Provide greenery, baby’s breath and cellophane wrappers, and your guests can take home a custom-made bouquet to brighten up their home!  For information on how to keep your costs down with wholesale flowers, Contact Me.

There are lots of other interactive buffets you could provide your guests; the ones I’ve listed are but a few, and are those that can be taken home at the end of the evening.  You could also provide “immediately consumable” buffets: a S'mores Station, Make Your Own Candy Apple, Ice Cream Sundae Bar, Coke/Root Beer Float Station, Custom Martini Bar, Nacho Bar, Poutine Station, etc.

When providing interactive favours for your guests, you’re only limited by your imagination.  Have some fun, incorporate the things you and your fiancé love, and your guests will always remember your wedding and the thoughtful favours you provided.
