Tough as it is to plan, winter weddings are incredibly wonderful. Apart from them being a testament to your mad planning and execution skills, winter weddings are simply magical. If you are having a winter wedding, chances are you have made the preparations months ago and are just polishing the last minute details. However, if you are in the early stages of planning (for next year! Ha! But really, it’s never too early) or if you want a simple one and just looking for details to set the mood, here are a few winter wedding ideas to get you excited:

Silver Dust

Winter weddings are all about that magical, frosty look. You want things to sparkle like ice crystals but not look like they’ve been snowed in and for this, the silver glitter does the trick. If the idea of glitter all over is a bit icky for you, sequins deliver the same effect.

This table linen sure makes a statement! Look for sequined fabrics to use as linen or napkin holders for that extra sparkle.

Some silver on your bouquet won’t hurt either.

Sparkly centerpieces? Yes, please! Here’s how you can make your own.

Fairy Lights

Okay, this particular detail is not exclusive to winter weddings though they look especially beautiful during this season. Fairy lights deliver that warm glow that doesn’t hurt the eyes and look extremely pretty in photos! It might be a bit tricky to put them up though so make sure you’ll hire someone to take care of these on the big day.

Place them under the tables for a cozy glow.

Or on bare branches to create an incredible ambiance.

Snowflakes

Snowflakes are a winter wedding staple. And depending on how you integrate them, they don’t look Christmas-y at all! They key is to keep them delicate and not-too-in-your-face.

Just take a look at these invitations. The print is perfect and lovely.

And they’re perfect accents for cakes too.

Indulgent Food

Give your guests that cozy feeling with warm, indulgent food. Consider choosing winter favorites for your dessert bar and don’t be afraid to go low-key. Think pies, puddings… stuff you would usually have at home!

One bride thought of a hot cocoa bar which her guests absolutely loved!

And yes, this is the season when it’s perfectly acceptable to serve donuts.

Or you can give coffee as favors.

If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, here’s a savory option:

Bring on the Jewels

If you love bling, then winter is your season! This is actually the season when you can get away with big sparkly pieces. You can also incorporate your bling into your headdress:

Or if you’re a minimalist, just make sure your shoes sparkle:
