Hello Wedding Professionals,

What free exposure for your wedding business?  Then, tell me your 2013 wedding predictions!

I'm preparing a blog post that will be published in January of 2013, which will be called: 2013 Wedding Predictions.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on what those predictions and trends will be.  I'll pick the 10 best (and most-likely-to-occur predictions).  Then, when I create the blog, I'll mention your business name.  I'll also link your prediction to your website or blog.  So, this is a great way for you to get a ton of free exposure for your business.

What should you do???

  1. Please share 1-2 wedding industry predictions or trends below in this discussion thread.  Share your thoughts on color trends, fashion, decor, music, etiquette - you name it.  See an example below.
  2. Feel free to include 1-2 photos in your submission to increase your chances of getting picked.  If you do include a photo, please link it to the webpage where it was originally found or give credit to the photographer.
  3. Be sure to include your business name as well as a link to your website and/or blog.

Thanks in advance for your help.  I can't wait to see what you think will happen to weddings in the New Year!

Hi Christine,

I agree with many of the predictions listed and predict that wedding hair and makeup will also trend toward the top themes for 2013-Modern Art Deco Glam; Modern Rustic Shabby Chic; Hipster Bohemian Chic; Whimsical/Family Heirloom; and Eco, Natural, DIY, Beach. We will see brides being more conscious of coordinating their hair and makeup looks with their dress and wedding theme than ever before.

Kim Kardashian shows a good example of Modern Art Deco Glam. You'll see a variety of white, beige and nude lids and a cat eye that is wedding appropriate paired with bolder lips in reds, burgundys and fuschias. Hair will be controlled and tight or fingerwaved. Think updated old-school holly wood glam.

Nikki Reed is the epitome of Modern Rustic Shabby Chic. Hair is tousled and loose and makeup is "barely-there natural".

Hair and makeup for the Hipster Bohemian Chic wedding theme will be similar to the Rustic wedding. You'll see more hair worn down and often adorned with headbands. Makeup is still natural but lids, cheeks and lips will all have a fresh wash of pink.

Kate Middleton displays a perfect example of Whimsical/Family Heirloom hair and makeup. Understated smoky eyes in a neutral brown, contoured cheeks and mauve lip color with a hint of brown compliment her romantic hair style. The look is polished, flattering and camera-ready. The heirloom or whimsical aspect will be apparent in hair pieces, jewelry and accessories that have sentimental meaning.

When doing an Eco, Natural, DIY or Beach wedding brides will want to use mineral based water proof makeup to create a bronzy sun-kissed look. Hair will look best in loose, beachy waves.

Thanks for the opportunity!

My name is Simone Vega and I am a Wedding Coordinator in the New York City, Tri-State area. I am already seeing a trend in the bridal industry and that is brides opting for smaller more intimate weddings with even more personalized decor then we have seen in previous years.

Thank you for listening!

I feel the dollar dance is going by the wayside and the "Who wears the Cake" is going to be the next hit!

The wedding I decorated the weekend was fun and Exciting when the Maid of Honor went around with the Groom's Vase and collected money to see him wear the cake over the Bride.  However don't count out the Best Man he was a close second collecting money for her to wear the cake.

Wow.. awesome Great Also Check this Wedding Websites
