Wedding Toast-Keep it Simple

The person who will give the wedding toast is usually selected before the reception and agreed upon by the bride and groom. Impromptu toasts can be hilarious but are not always in good taste and can even bring a blush to the couples face. If you are the person chosen to give the official toast, handling the situation with dignity is always the best approach.

To avoid mishaps or embarrassment to yourself and the couple, it is a good idea to take a couple of minutes to handwrite your… Continue

do i need wedding planner software?

taken from www.wedbykez.com

The short answer is - no but again, there are always exceptions to the rule.wedbykez bride with computer

Wedding planning software is just a packaged version of the tools already available on your own computer at home. The software ranges in price from $50 to $500 dollars and there are as many good versions as their are rip-offs. Like with most software available on the internet -unless it comes from a… Continue

Printing Solid Colors in Letterpress

Printing solids with any printing method always raises special issues that must be addressed. In letterpress printing there are some unique ones.

One of the most notable issues is the ink coverage. The solid area may appear somewhat mottled since the Crane's Lettra paper we use is unsized, making the paper softer to take a better impression. When paper is sized, as most papers are today, it will receive ink more evenly, since the sizing acts like a coating on the… Continue

What to look for in a Wedding Photographer

Questions:

How long have you been in business?

What do you have in the way of back up equipment....cameras, flashes, etc...

Do you have samples of complete weddings to look at....any photographer good or bad can have a few godod samples form different weddings, you want an overall view of a photographer's work.

Meet with the photographer, get a feel for his/her personality, are you comfortable with him/her?

Your photographer should be good at working with people,… Continue

How far ahead should you set a "respond by" date?

"Please Respond By" is almost always added to RSVP cards, largely because your Caterer will require a nose-count at some point prior to your reception, and you will probably have to pay for that number of guests - even if they fail to show!

Generally we recommend that you learn what your Caterer's deadline day is, and then track back 7 - 10 days. This gives you (or your coordinator) a chance to call errant guests that haven't mailed their RSVP by the requested date.

Making the Most of you Wedding Photographer

How to receive great Wedding Pictures:

- Spend your budget on making your theme look rich, and not cheap; your dress, his tux, your wedding party's attire, small and condensed bouquets, table toppers, a good photographer and DJ, as well as a limo, should top your list.

- Avoid using "picnic" snacks, room decorations and expensive itinerery; an elegant table will say volumes rather than a cheap standing flower arrangement.

- Choose deep true colors for bridesmaids' dresses and… Continue

Meeting with a potential florist

Some ideas that are helpful when meeting with a potential floral designer/florist:

Choose your venue prior to meeting with florist. We cannot make recommendations on decorations or floral pieces if you don't know what venue you will be using.

Ask about the availability of your date

Bring color swatches if they are available. Guessing what shade of red you are using or which blue you want even though you may be call it… Continue

Getting married should be a celebration of the couple, your likes, your passion and your taste.

I've never understood why when two Vegans get married they still serve the traditional chicken and beef meals. Surely, the non-vegans guests can cope with some well made vegan meals?

I love hearing stories about couples that have injected their own personality into their ceremony and… Continue
