Wedding Song Writer's Weight Journey

When I was first married 36 years ago I was 18 yrs old and I had no worries about my weight.  I’m 5’2” and weighed about 110-115.  Today I’m 54 and my weight is 124 lbs, not too bad. I want to get down to 120 lbs.   I don’t remember girls or guys trying to lose so much weight 30+ years ago for their weddings.  I believe it’s because brides and grooms are older now and weight is an issue with some.  None of my girlfriends worried about their weight like girls do today and I’m no different. …

Wedding Song Writer's Weight Journey

I just noticed that the last two of my blogs are gone. I'll give you a short update and then continue for this week.  I started on the Pritikin way of eating and taking the alli pill.  I'm down 8 lbs in about three weeks. Here is this weeks blog.

Wedding Song Writer's Weight Journey

Well, I'm still doing good even over the weekend. My weight is down 2 more lbs, 126. I finished reading the Pritikin book and it was really good and a very sensible food plan to follow, not diet. It is real eating with lean protein, fruits, veggies and whole grains. The whole food plan revolves around eating very little fat, under 10%. I eat about 1200 calories a day so I should be eating 120 or less calories from fat. All food labels are marked with "calories from fat". I have no problem…

Wedding Song Writer's Weight Journey

Well, I haven't posted in quite awhile.  My weight went up to 133 lbs & I was so discouraged with everything I just couldn't write.  A week ago I was grocery shopping and saw alli, the only weight loss supplement that is approved by the FDA.  I broke down and bought it, it was very expensive.  I needed something real fast or my 13 lb weight gain was going higher.  I know this because it has happened to me over and over again.  I started alli on Monday night.  I had some pains from gas I…
