Wedding Planners Choosing Cheaper Items

A new trend has started to take hold in the wedding planning market, and that trend is to utilize a larger variety of items at a much low cost. Rather than buy a handful of expensive decorations and favors, many wedding planners are now choosing to buy several different items that are smaller and less expensive. The goal is to fill the reception with more time consuming fun by overloading it with tons of different activities that take less time than some traditional ones. By stretching out these activities over longer periods of time, couples are able to get more excitement at their wedding reception for a lower overall cost.

Venue

Many wedding planners are encouraging couples to choose a venue that works for both the ceremony and reception. By combining the two parts of your event into one venue, you can save a lot of money on your wedding venue versus renting two separate spaces. Popular options include renting out a public beach or park, or even a party hall that is large enough to break into two distinct areas.

Decorations

Decorations are another great way to save money. The best way to accomplish this is to buy inexpensive components such as Cray paper and ribbon and put in the elbow grease to create your own decorations and design elements. Every bit of time you or your wedding planner put in will result in lower overall costs for your wedding decorations. You can also make your own able centerpieces as a way to save money versus buying them already assembled out of the box.

Wedding Favors

Wedding favors are a great way to get a lot of small items for a small amount of money. People always remember the small details, so wedding favors are a great place to make a huge impact while saving lots of budget room. Popular choices are things like candy and cheap sparklers because you can make your tables look like they’re filled with goodies for just pennies per person. By buying a selection of several small items to occupy your guests, you are giving them a better experience while simultaneously saving money.

Reception Food

The food you serve your guests at your reception is one of the most expensive parts of your entire wedding. Depending on what you serve and how you serve it, you can easily end up paying way more than you ever thought. One of the best ways to lower these costs is to serve your food buffet style. By serving your food via a buffet line, you can eliminate the cost of having servers on hand and also get away with cheaper food like loose meat sandwiches. If you can somehow make your reception a standing affair, you can also eliminate the fees associated with renting chairs for large groups of guests.
