Planning a wedding does not have to be a daunting task! You want the room, the event, and the activities to be perfect! Flowers can be very expensive, but you love the look and aroma of fresh florals. Well, do not stress - you can decorate with fresh florals even though you are on a fixed budget. Here are some ideas!
Crystal bowls full of floating blooms and candles are very ultra modern looking and make for a very pretty presentation. They are so easy to assemble! Pastel colors set… Continue
I love this time of the year. The bold summer heat has not yet started and the spring rains are dying down. Northern California is beautiful in May, especially in picturesque Sonoma County wine country. The vineyards are starting to grown again and the hillsides surrounding this area are handsomely covered in rows of grapevines. Birds are chirping and flowers are blooming. This really is an amazing place to live.
If I had to use one word to describe this season it would be green. So… Continue
Bachelorette parties are gaining in popularity! A unique idea is hosting the bachelorette party at the Matt FX Brewing Company, Utica, NY, which is one of the few remaining great American brewhouses, located in Central NY at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.
The brewhouse is a century old, founded in 1888 by German-born immigrant, Francis Xavier Matt, and owned currently by third and fourth generation of Matt family members. The seven-story brewhouse produces timeless class,… Continue

Big Day Song is about your day, your life, your relationships. It is the perfect gift for someone you care about for an engagement, wedding, anniversary or birthday.
After answering some questions about how you met, what you love about your significant other and some funny or quirky things they do, I will write, compose and record your song with vocals, acoustic guitar, and a digital orchestra.
You will also receive a special framed plaque with the lyrics, the CD displayed… Continue
Making a short first (and second, etc.) anniversary film as a next chapter for the wedding film will continue to document a marriage for future generations. Couples can then look back on how their marriage has blossomed over the years.
Do you ever wonder why people spend money on professional engagement photos?
We certainly do!
These engagement photos are yet another modern day wedding trend appearing on the scene in recent years. Unlike the rediscovery of peace sign necklaces and neon colored nail polish, this trend seems to be a new frontier. We have all seen Facebook pages laden with black and white photos of a couple skipping through a beautiful park scene or frolicking on a trendy NYC… Continue

I wanted to share some very important information to all LI & NYC brides about an upcoming Bridal event for charity hosted by Housing Works; a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those with HIV/AIDS. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a designer wedding gown at a drastically reduced price and help those in need at the same time.
Here are the details in the email I received:
Housing Works doesn't let the recession keep bridal dreams from…Continue
Sole Mates just arrived to the Wedding Shoppe. The newest invention since Spanxs. With so many brides investing in designer shoes, these little covers will save your heels from outside dirt and sinking into the ground. Very Clever......
Accessories are the way to add your personal flair to your wedding look. Brides are even changing their accessories from ceremony to reception. Adding colored sashes, brooches, chockers and even large bracletts to add their own personal statement. The… Continue
My brother and his fiancé are in the process of getting a grip on what they want for their wedding, and with budget issues first and foremost in their minds, they are seriously considering a destination wedding. When he told me over the phone that he figured they could get away with a $5000 wedding that way, I tried to remind him that there would be additional costs still in doing this. That yes, you could do it for $5000, but you also have to factor in attire, jewellery, guest favours, and… Continue
We are located in the heart of wine country. There are farms everywhere and vineyards line the hilltops. Looking out our windows at work we can see wide grassy fields, tall oak trees and beautiful mountains in the background. It is a beautiful area to live but there are certain consequences that come with this beautiful territory.
Surrounding our building complex is a rather large dairy farm. A couple times a year when the season is right and the wind is blowing there will waft in… Continue
This is something I learned while I was getting my hair done for my wedding. It’s great for anyone who feels that they have bald spots around their face like I do!
Here’s a neat trick to help cover up these areas to make your hair look more full:
Basically, you can use brown/black eyeshadow and your eyeshadow brush (or a sponge) and just dab along the roots of your scalp. This helps to add a lot of depth for… Continue

We will find any excuse to celebrate and event. Birthday's, anniversaries, graduations, births, deaths (yes, we can celebrate their wonderful life that they shared with us) and of course, weddings! One of the ways that we share in celebrations is with food. Food is a very important part of your wedding.
Whether you are having a buffet, sit-down meal, potluck, or old-fashioned BBQ, food is the way that we share with each other. Therefore, the food that you share at your wedding should… Continue

I have never experienced a wedding in the snow. North of the San Francisco bay in wine country it doesn't snow very often (I mean every 10-15 years!). When it does, it's mostly just a thick layer of frost that melts by 9 am. However, I still have spent plenty of time in the snow. I have fond memories of going up to the mountains to snowboard and waking up to see snowflakes frozen on windows. There is something about those crisp, cold mornings that I find… Continue
