Choosing Your Wedding Band

I am often asked by potential clients why there is such a huge difference in the quality of a band when the prices are sometimes very similar? My answer is simple. Some band leaders want the job so badly they are willing to tell the client anything they want to hear to get the contract. Some "high priced" bands may not be able to deliver the goods due to the size of the band (too small), the professionalism of the presentation (no tuxedo, questionable gear). Sometimes the sound of the band may… Continue

ItsMyGiftRegistry.com makes it easy to create a registry and add items from any store, anywhere, allowing members to plan their event from a single location.

New York, N.Y. / Anyone who has ever planned a wedding understands how quickly a life milestone can become a logistical nightmare. Juggling vendors, guests, and details can dull the shine of what should be the most special day of a couple’s life. Now, a new website is about to change all… Continue

Love, Friendship, Trust

Love is such a simple thing when its right when you can wake up in the morning and know that you are loved by another human being. Not just loved but well frankly liked and wanted and needed. Sometimes we as humans mistake love to be all that we need but as we go through life we find that not only is that important but having a wonderful friend in life one that we can share our ups and downs with, our most wonderful dreams and perhaps as time goes on even the dreadful secrets we keep. And you… Continue

saving money-do's and don'ts

There is a lot of buzz out there about how to save money on your wedding. If you still want to have a lovely wedding, then you need to re-adjust, as I call it. Don't cut so much that your wedding won't be what you want it to be. Be smart. There are lots of little ways to save and still have a beautiful wedding. Don't pick the month of June-that saves you money but you can still have a lovely wedding in another month. Don't do a Saturday night, The money you save for doing that can get you a… Continue

Last Minute Weight Loss

Good Day!

As a wedding vendor in a Bridal Shop, I get a lot of questions on how to lose weight-FAST! It is an all too familiar scene, and a dangerously bad one. You can wreck your health doing crash dieting or starving yourself. The worst is you will not enjoy yourself on your day due to feeling ill, and you may gain a lot more weight when you think you can return to your "regular" eating habits. Not so! If you really want to play it safe, and reap some amazing rewards with a month left on… Continue

Next Event

Well, Bridal Shower went off without a hitch. Who am I kidding, there's always a hitch. Managed to limit controlling MOB's obsession of running the shower to meet & greet.

Everyone enjoyed themselves and seemed impressed with the location.

Next 2 events, well one potential and one definite involves 2 returnning clients. Annual Corporate Family Outing and an engagement party. Looking forward to working with both clients as they were a pleasure to work with… Continue

Weather in Hawaii

Written by Marie Glodt, Travel specialist at Travel to Maui

Today I would like to blog about the weather in Hawaii.

I know you may laugh and say “but it is always nice in Hawaii!” In part that is true.

The state of Hawaii has two seasons, winter and summer. The main differences are the amount of rain and much less so the temperatures, especially from place to place.

The average… Continue

Have Camera, Will Travel

A lot of Brides assume, because of my location and the mass amount of destination wedding on the islands, that I am a Hawaii wedding photographer.

I am a wedding photographer that happens to live in Hawaii. I have shot weddings all the way from Seattle to Australia.

The other assumption is that its going to cost a lot to have me fly out and shoot their wedding because of travel expenses. I always try to give a little extra when I know someone is paying to fly me out. I may extend… Continue

Ingredients to Watch Out For

Most of us are now making an effort to eat healthier. We try to exercise restraint in restaurants, we think twice before attacking the vending machines, and we take a little more time in the supermarket in an attempt to choose products best suited to move us towards out fitness goals. Product manufacturers are well aware of these facts and have developed marketing strategies to reel you in to their products. Increasingly, you see words like "whole grain" and "low carb" on products targeting… Continue
