Growing up a twin in a concrete jungle bought Julia and I some freedom at a slightly younger age than our friends. There were two of us, a second conscience if you will, if one of us dared step beyond the boundaries of or agreed upon limits the other would chirp up warning of the consequences. I remember being 6 years old playing with Julia in the park across the street from our home, we were not directly visible to our parents, so we had rules! We had to be in before dark, we had to check in… Continue
July 2nd 2009 – Illinois Bride Legal Last Name Change -Legal Marriage Ceremony - Bridal Name Change Tip by the Name Change Kit for Brides Software – From Miss To Mrs… www.namechangemadeeasy.com
What seems obvious is not always. There are unrecorded and illegally conducted marriages in the State of Illinois. So, a duly appointed marriage officiator, wedding clergy member, justice of the peace, etc., as defined by Illinois state, does factor into a legal bride last name… Continue
The classic dome is a time honored shape for a tabletop and will stand the test of time in your home, regardless of changing fashions and your evolving tastes. The hexagon is a top seller at our shop as it provides a clean and contemporary display for your freeze dried flowers. We also sell rectangular table top displays but personally, I think that the hex hugs the round shape of the bridal bouquet… Continue

One of the most exciting parts of my job is when I get the change to provide a couple with a renewal of vows! This past weekend, I had TWO! I could hardly believe it. One couple renewed their vows in York Maine, and I will be posting photos on my blog soon. The other couple, renewed their vows at the Martha Mary Chapel in Sudbury, Massachusetts in the exact same location they were married twenty five years ago! So....for new brides out there, always keep in mind that renewing the vows you said… Continue

Is she possessed by demons, or just frustrated? Funny how it can be hard to tell a stressed-out bride from a real, dyed-in-the-scales Bridezilla: http://tinyurl.com/m5ygzg

Beware of hidden airline fees
There are many new fees to consider when booking your airline travel.
In my ongoing research of US airlines below are some of the hidden ways airlines are passing on the costs to the traveler. These fees are ever changing and as part of my service I will be bringing them to light in blogs such as this. You may also reach me at www.traveltomaui.net
I love colors. I try to surround myself in a variety of contrasting and complementing colors. At home, at work and even with the clothes I wear, I am enthralled by unique and spirited colors. Colors with names like floral white or Alice blue make me laugh and I even have this design book where you can flip through different home scenes and move different color swatches back and fourth to see what it could look like with a different combination. Suffice to say, I think the more color the… Continue

So, last week I blogged about centrepieces I donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association of Peel's Annual General Meeting. I was able to bring some of the centrepieces home with me so that I could conduct a bit of an experiment on floral longevity. The purpose, to bring you the results, and to help you make more informed decisions about your choice in florist, and to help you see your floral pieces as an investment, the way they should be.
We are working on four weddings this week. The phone rings for one bride while the other is on hold, another's linens arrive and the color is all wrong and we are two days late waiting for a shipment of vases. You have to love this business! Having an amazing team to help keep my sanity is key in this operation. Bless their hearts that they love what they do almost as much as I do - You would have to to iron 56 tablecloths!!
We are going on site today to surround a large old tree in… Continue

We all need reminders of why we do what we do. This is one of those reminders:
*Positive Organizational Psychologists, Kouzes and Posner, have coined a phrase called "job crafting," which is where we seek to tie our contribution to our larger sense of purpose. When someone understands how their contribution is tied to their own purpose or values, they seek to expand the boundaries of that role. It allows more meaning to be present in… Continue
