I know a couple who is getting married April 14, 2012 and both are trying to lose weight. The three of us are doing our own thing and of course the guy looses the most weight. He has a good built and was in
the reserves for our country, so he is in pretty good shape but has gained the weight since he has been home. She is so excited for her wedding and wants everything to be perfect from her weight to the decorations and specially her dress. When I was married at 18 years…

At Avid Entertainment we love to see the guests getting into the bride and groom's first dance, whether they're quietly singing along or swaying back and forth as they watch the newlyweds sweep each other around the dance floor. In this video, we see how a couple can take this subtle interaction to the next level and really entertain their guests by creating a unique first dance.
Here we see Lindsay and Keenan portraying…

Well, since my last post I went on vacation for a week in Myrtle Beach. I took some of my own foods to help me with my healthy eating. I had lost 9 lbs at the time my vacation started. I could have been better with my eating on vacation but then again I have been much, much worse. When I came home I had gained 8 lbs back in one week. Now, Iknew some of that would come off pretty quick due to water weight from higher
sodium than I’m used to. It took me one week to gain it &…

When I was first married 36 years ago I was 18 yrs old and I had no worries about my weight. I’m 5’2” and weighed about 110-115. Today I’m 54 and my weight is 124 lbs, not too bad. I want to get down to 120 lbs. I don’t remember girls or guys trying to lose so much weight 30+ years ago for their weddings. I believe it’s because brides and grooms are older now and weight is an issue with some. None of my girlfriends worried about their weight like girls do today and I’m no different. …

Well, I'm still doing good even over the weekend. My weight is down 2 more lbs, 126. I finished reading the Pritikin book and it was really good and a very sensible food plan to follow, not diet. It is real eating with lean protein, fruits, veggies and whole grains. The whole food plan revolves around eating very little fat, under 10%. I eat about 1200 calories a day so I should be eating 120 or less calories from fat. All food labels are marked with "calories from fat". I have no problem…

A bad, bad, bad week. My weight is up to 131 & it's the highest I have been in a few years. I have no control over my eating & I'm so tired of always fighting my eating habits, I love to eat. Last time my weight kept going up & up was about 8 years ago & my highest was 145 lbs. Too much for someone who is 5'2". I just want to eat & eat all the time. I was eating all the left over ice cream & goodies from Father's Day weekend, I couldn't stop. I had a graduation…

Not a good week, need I say more. I weighed in at 127, up one pound, and I ate so much at my granddaughter's baptism that it made me sick, really sick. Why do I do this to myself over and over again. I tried on my good black pants for the baptism and that started my morning off bad. One pair fit me out of 6, not a good thing. But did that make me eat less, no. When am I going to learn??? This morning I'm starting off good with a weight/aerobic workout, oatmeal with banana, cinnamon…

I weighed myself on Friday and I was down to 126 lbs. The problem is I can lose about 4 lbs during the week but then I gain the same 4 lbs back on the weekend. I talked with my neice and she does the same every week. I was so careful this weekend with drinks and food so we'll see on Friday how I did, it's a constant battle every week. With so many graduations, cookouts, wedding showers and weddings it's so hard to eat right. Our gatherings are surrounded by food and booze. LOL Then…

In one of my previous posts I told you about my bride who is paralyzed and was determined to walk down the aisle and dance with her fiance on their wedding day. Well, I am happy to report SHE DID IT.
I was not at the ceremony but had the privilege to see her have that first dance with her new husband. Just…

When to do the first dance? Traditionally it is right after the meal just before opening the dance floor. Have you ever considered doing the first dance immediately following the head table introductions. Everyone is standing and clapping for you anyways so you have their full attention. I have seen this done many times with my weddings and it's beautiful. All eyes are on you!
What are your thoughts?
